A different look at your Father's absence

Surely we miss him. He was the father we met for the first time in life. The same one who opened the doors to the light for us. Nurture your memory and your love for him with these approaches.

"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

It is not the end but the beginning. We have often wondered what is after death, and while we know that the journey does not end there, the Bible tells us that death is the beginning of a new life with Christ; a life different from the one we lead here on earth, different from everything we have ever known.

"If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." Romans 14:8

It is cause for celebration. How many times have we heard the expression "passed away"? Of course, beyond any joke or ironic comment there is also a great truth, for let us remember that once we are no longer here, we will finally come face to face with God, and that alone is cause for celebration.

"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame" Song of Solomon 8:6

It is a reunion. At the same time, once our soul leaves the body that until the moment of our death we had inhabited, we will be part of another reunion that will also be a reason to celebrate without a doubt: Our reunion with our loved ones who left the earth long ago. Remembering all the points we have seen so far will give us a clearer image of God's view of death.

"Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him;." 2 Timothy 2:11

It is that place where we are all equal. Personally I get my head around the phrase "starting from scratch." Passing through death means entering through the gates of heaven and becoming one of us, where there will be no difference between us and where unbreakable harmony and peace reigns.

"I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body." Philippians 1:23-24

We will enjoy the benefits of having reached our final abode. It is also important to remember all the promises that God made to us as we walked His path. All those things He promised us during our lifetime will finally be fulfilled and our waiting will have come to an end.
