Taking Care of the Heart

The Decisions we make and the people who accompany us along the way are key to emotional health. Learn in the following article the verses that will help you to heal your heart.

"Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son." 1 John 5:10

In the course of our lives, it is likely that we have faced questioning and criticism for various reasons, including our identity as Christians. It is important to recognize that these questionings often come from people who lack self-confidence and who may not understand or have faith in the Holy Spirit and our Lord. When faced with these situations, it is essential not to respond with anger or aggravation, but rather to show patience and understanding toward those who do not share our faith.

It is common that upon receiving such questions, doubts are raised about our own faith and the presence of God in difficult moments. Phrases such as "Where is your God when everything seems to be wrong?" can lead us to question whether we are really on the right path.

However, it is important to remember that people who question us may lack the spiritual openness necessary to recognize God's miracles or to understand the divine word revealed in the Holy Bible. Their lack of understanding about the path to eternal life and our devotion to Jesus may lead them to express doubts and questions about our faith.

"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." James 1:6

It is in these times of questioning that we should try to open the eyes of those around us. It is an opportunity to share our life story, the moment we approached prayer and the personal motives that led us to connect with the Holy Spirit.

Sharing our experiences and testimonies can help these people to understand our faith and to know the deep motives that lead us to entrust ourselves to the Lord.

However, it is important to remember that we will not always succeed in changing the perspective of those who question us, and that is okay. God has a plan for each person, and perhaps in the future they will have the opportunity to see things from a new and more open perspective.

In times of doubt, we can find comfort in the example of Jesus. During his life, Jesus was questioned and criticized on numerous occasions, but he never lost his humility and always followed the path entrusted to him by the Heavenly Father. Despite facing attacks and adversity, Jesus continued to work for the good of humanity, teaching about faith and demonstrating Divine Justice.

Even in his crucifixion, Jesus showed us the way to eternal life through the miracle of resurrection. His legacy of love, compassion and forgiveness lives on in our hearts and it is our duty as believers to replicate and spread this legacy wherever we go.

"But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life." 1 Timothy 1:16

It is essential to stand firm in our faith, not letting questioning and criticism divert us from our spiritual path. Let us keep in mind that our actions and attitudes can be a reflection of God's presence in our lives.

It is not necessary to impose our beliefs on others, but to live our faith authentically and compassionately, allowing our example to speak for itself.

Instead of responding with hurtful or defensive words, let us show love and compassion to those who do not understand our faith. Patience and empathy can open doors to deeper understanding and greater openness to spiritual truth.

"To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly." 1 Peter 2:21-23

While the path of following Christ can be challenging, let us remember that Jesus assured us that, through our faith, we would receive the strength and guidance of the Holy Spirit to overcome any adversity.

Let us trust that God has a purpose for each of us and that, through our actions and testimonies, we can be instruments of His love and mercy in the world.

Facing questions about our faith can be challenging, but it is also an opportunity to share the love and truth of Jesus with those who do not know its transforming power. Let us follow Jesus' example and stand firm in our faith, showing love and compassion to all, and trusting that God has a plan for each person.

With the support of the Holy Spirit, we can follow the path of faith and carry the legacy of Jesus in our hearts, illuminating the way for those who seek the truth.
