Reflections On How Much We Have to Learn

Sometimes we get the wrong impression that we don't have much to give. No matter how intense our Light may be, the important thing is that we do not let it die out because the Lord has a wonderful purpose for our lives.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come,   and the glory of the Lord rises upon you." Isaiah 60:1

Along the wonderful path that we have decided to take with the Lord, we will have to face situations of various kinds. We will experience happiness and sadness, joy and sorrow. In the most difficult instances we will have the feeling of being in complete darkness, suffering feelings of insecurity and fear.

We will probably ask ourselves: What has become of that Light that shines with joy in my life and in the lives of my brothers?

When this type of distressing thoughts grow in our hearts, it is that we must rethink and understand that God is the Eternal Light that illuminates our path and that this Light lives in us so that we can project ourselves illuminating, in addition, the path of our brothers.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5

When we recognize that the Light of Christ lives in us, we understand that, as children of God, we are called to dispel the darkness and gloom of ourselves and others. Our Light should illuminate the lives of our families, friends, and colleagues.

Therefore, every encounter or interaction we have with our brothers and sisters is an encounter with God. This does not mean that we have all the answers, but whoever lives in our heart does. We are blessed by the Grace of the Eternal to be chosen as His instrument to express Himself among the men and women of the earth.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14

It is fundamental to become aware of the importance of keeping our Light alive even in the most difficult moments of our lives. This does not imply that we should go through all the processes to face a crisis by pretending or making an effort that exceeds us to shine.

When we make the wonderful decision to walk the paths of the Lord, we know that His Light persists in our hearts forever and, depending on the circumstances, will shine with greater or lesser intensity. What we must not allow is that our anguish and fears generate in us the false need to hide from the world. One Light, however small, can make a great difference.

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5

The Lord called us to receive the divine light to manifest it with our whole life . The Light enables us to be wiser because we can discern between good and evil. On the other hand, in the darkness, we can see nothing and we depart from the path of the Lord.

May our Light shine forever in the name of Christ.
