Nothing Else Matters

May the Love of the Lord not make you stray from his path of blessings. Explore the following article to discover the key elements in your life.

"Who is a God like you, Who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy." Micah 7:18

For various reasons we can stay away from the path of light and illumination provided by the Holy Spirit. But we must try to remember and keep our eyes and thoughts attentive, since temptation and some habits can divert us from our objective of Faith.

It is also easy that way, something simple and comforting in the immediacy with which the reward or pleasure is conceived. But it is precisely these conditions that predispose us to make decisions that can affect in one way or another the integrity of our spirit.

To endure temptation means to go through trials without giving up at all, so as to be able to survive the darkness that is always lurking to attack, whenever we stray from the footsteps of God's path without warning.

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." James 1:12

It is then of utmost importance to remember that to endure also means to go through a time of temptation without allowing ourselves to change our attitude or commitment to God. Let us remember that Jesus never treated people differently when He was tempted and in the same way, when we are spiritually mature, we can follow His example. Jesus understands exactly what we face when we really come face to face with temptation.

Sometimes He allows us to face temptations so that He can draw our attention to areas of weakness in our lives and help us overcome them, lest we forget that this is one of His many ways of showing us His love for all of His children.

"When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone." James 1:13

The only way we can have all that Jesus wants us to have is by becoming what He created us to be, and that maturity comes through overcoming the various trials He is careful to put in our path.

It is then time to decide to be patient while standing firm in spirit and not give in to the temptation that only seeks to take us away from our Shepherd; and just as His word dictates.

He will not give us a greater burden than we can bear, but together with the test He will give us the way out of this problem, to continue traveling the wonderful paths of His divine will.

"Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted." Galatians 6:1

Like Jesus, who resisted temptations in the wilderness, we can find strength in prayer, meditation on God's Word and fellowship with the Christian community.

Temptations, though difficult, are also opportunities to grow in our faith and spiritual maturity. By overcoming them, we strengthen our character and draw closer to God, allowing Him to mold our being in His image.

Remember that God will never give you a greater trial than you can bear. Along with temptation, He offers you the way out, the grace and the wisdom to overcome it. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, and press on along the path of light, trusting Him to guide you to final victory.
