“herefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16

One of Jesus' responsibilities during his lifetime was to teach his disciples how to overcome adversity. No matter the problem, no matter where, the Holy Spirit reigns in all areas of our life and it is in those moments when we feel part of God. In whom we should lean on and feel totally accepted and secure.

Both Jesus and you, we are children of the Heavenly Father. We were blessed by Him, with talents, gifts and a unique purpose. Recognized as Christian beings in a permanent and eternal way, we should not be overcome by sadness and darkness.

"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had." Romans 15:5

We do not require any approval from anyone about our Faith, except our Lord, who understands that we need to reaffirm that commitment to Him by our actions and heartfelt words.

Which will also be replete with wisdom and light, for His goodness and enlightenment will be a reflection of all the promises we made before Him, because of the love we have for Him and He has for us.

"If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth." 1 John 1:6

Why then if we claim to know the destiny of Faith in Christ and boast of being part of this Christian family do we behave in a way in which there seems to be no tomorrow and no other? We must live according to the mandate of the Holy Spirit and as far as possible to the destiny of life that God has in mind for each one of us.

It will not be a simple path, but if we rely only on what they want to show us about the situation in the world, the chaos, the wars, the social inequality, the problems of poverty and natural catastrophes, we will never be able to place all our faith and hope in the Savior. We cannot relate in a unique and profound way.

"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12

Not being able to give ourselves completely to the Lord means that we are walking blind and in the dark. What do we do when we try to walk with our eyes closed or in a place with no light? We probably try to stretch out our arms. To take small, sure steps on ground that seems to be unstable and unfamiliar. We try to recognize the space and remember where we have walked before.

A desperation rises throughout our body wishing we could get some enlightenment or find the way out of that state. We are before the answer, Faith. It is the only one that can show us God with his light of hope. To walk in the dark is to remain outside the Holy Spirit, as if our Heavenly Father did not exist.

"For the lot of the sons of men and the lot of animals is the same: as the one dies so dies the other. All have one breath of life; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity." Ecclesiastes 3:19

We can be brothers and sisters walking in darkness, omitting the word of God without receiving the blessings of light and missing out on the gratitude of helping another without receiving anything in return.

Do we then wish to extinguish the light that illuminates our decisions and paths? We may stray and be temporarily blinded, but we must not remain eternally believing that this is our final destiny.
