Life is a one-way street and we must be able to appreciate and enjoy people in life. In the following article we explore ways to bond deeply with those who are no longer with us.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
To be grateful. Asking for Divine help in the face of a problem in our life requires a necessary act of humility. And to ask for mediation to Our Father implies, at the same time, the corresponding gratitude for His Holy intercession, without which we would not have been able to achieve it. Let us consider the importance of being thankful as unique, since this is what Christ preaches and by which we grow in spirit.
“We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.” 2 Thessalonians 1:3
Take stock. From time to time it is healthy to take stock and see where we are with respect to the past and where we intend to be in the future. Only in this way will we become truly aware of our mistakes and of all the things that make up our passage along the path of Christ. Let us remember that this is a highly effective method for us to grow spiritually: Self-knowledge is the seed that makes the plant of personal and collective achievements grow.
“ You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11
Prevent. It is not because we have overcome a problem that we are exempt from repeating history. On the contrary, let us remember that temptations lurk in the darkness, waiting for the opportune moment when we are weak in spirit or unprepared to attack again. That is why it is important to prevent such a situation, so we must have a strong spirit in Christ at all times.
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
Sharing information. A key aspect of what Christ intends for us is love for our neighbor, and this includes wanting my neighbor to grow in the same way that I do. This is nothing other than the most unselfish love, which, together with empathy, accomplishes the Divine message of loving one another.
