"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5
The search for answers to deep questions and inner restlessness is a constant in human life. And in that process, religion presents itself as an endless source of teachings and reflections that allow us to find meaning and purpose in our lives.
Being able to delve into some central ideas about how they can guide us on our path towards Goodness and Service will help us rediscover perhaps a somewhat neglected aspect of our inner being and our hearts.
"Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them." Isaiah 43:7
Since the beginning, we have been and are God's creation, a supreme being who has designated a path and a plan for us.
As members of Christ's people, we must cultivate a receptive and humble spirit to understand the magnitude of the wonderful blessing that being chosen by Him entails.
But this choice should not be understood as a burden, but as an opportunity to travel a path of good works and love.
To fulfill our function under the halo of God's eternal Glory, we must constantly renew our commitment and Faith to our Savior.
Prayer and reading of the Holy Scriptures are fundamental tools to communicate with Him and ask for balance, peace, and wisdom to fulfill our mission.
"But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be." 1 Corinthians 12:18
But what is our true purpose? How do we know what our beloved Father is asking of us?
We are here to perform acts of kindness with our brothers and, within our possibilities, justice for our neighbor. Our purpose is to help all those in need, not only to please our Holy Father but also as a tool of gratitude for the blessings received.
It is essential to develop our talents and gifts and put them at the service of God. We must communicate the Word of the Lord in every corner of the planet with humility, joy, and perseverance, remembering that the act of serving lives within us, thus Almighty God has created us.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10
But how can we carry out this mission in a world full of challenges and difficulties? The answer, according to Christian teachings, is to develop several characteristics that form a broad range in which we must develop as beings worthy of God's mercy.
The greatest of these characteristics is humility. Humility allows us to recognize that we are not perfect and that we need God's guidance and love to fulfill our mission in life.
Helping those who need it most is one of the missions that Jesus taught us on the cross and on which we must always keep our eyes focused.
It is the guidance and the necessary light that leads us to God's blessings in every moment of uncertainty. Helping brothers and sisters in the Faith who need us in some way.
