Creating a Comfort Destination

If we manage to maintain a steady and constant course on the path of enlightenment, the attraction of good energies will keep most of our worries away. In the following article we can find verses to inspire our mind.

"Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 1Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that" James 4:13-15

How is it possible to lead a life based on our faith, on the fervent belief to which we cling day by day? Is it possible to take all the teachings that God our Lord has left us through his word and transfer them to the situations we live daily, in this life plagued by technological advances and a constant devaluation of ethical and moral standards?

"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." Philippians 2:12-13

Let us remember that from God's hand, everything is given at a certain moment although, many times, that moment does not coincide with our own. But why, what does Jesus want to teach us with this?

One of the most important lessons that God's word gives us is that He has a plan for our lives, a purpose that He has called us to achieve. From it derives a second lesson -also vital- that we often overlook: how to fulfill that plan..

"Or I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance." Philippians 1:19

The Lord calls us to a transformation, a growth in character and in spirit, which is complex and will not happen overnight. Hence the second lesson he also teaches us is to approach that change gradually, that is, one step at a time. God knows that it is not about quantity, but quality, and that one step well taken in serenity and wisdom, will be better than two advanced at great speed.

It will not be an easy process, because all growth involves change and all change involves fear and uncertainty. However, we have a new opportunity every day to advance and cultivate the character that the Lord desires in us. Let us remember that character is the sum of all our habits and that the only way to develop those habits that honor the Lord is to practice those traits in both our words and our actions.

"Because I was confident of this, I wanted to visit you first so that you might benefit twice. 16 I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia, and then to have you send me on my way to Judea. 17 Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?" 2 Corinthians 1:15-17

Let us daily occupy ourselves with advancing with quality steps to growth in character and renewal of spirit that are worthy of the Lord, accepting His guidance and obeying His word. Let us take care of the part that corresponds to us and let God decide on the outcome, He is the only one responsible for widening our paths; we just have to be prepared for when the right time comes.
