"We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check." James 3:2
If we long to experience a change in our lives, attracting energies of renewal and positivity to our spirit, we must initiate that process from our thoughts and choices.
In the course of our journeys, the Lord places us before various situations and presents us with people to guide us on our path. By following the path illuminated by the Holy Spirit, we can offer an offering of peace to the Father, following in his footsteps.
However, if we neglect these signs of love and understanding that our Savior sends us, we will find ourselves wandering in darkness, blinded and disinterested in what really nourishes our existence.
"Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:19-21
It is imperative that we become aware of the impact our self-perception, our self-concept, has on our actions.
Each of us has molded an image of ourselves over time, influenced by our experiences.
Some carry a negative view, flagellating themselves for past actions or responses to challenges, mistakenly believing that they are always at fault. Others, on the other hand, learn from their mistakes and see every situation as an opportunity to grow.
"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light." Matthew 6:22
What many overlook is that our perception of ourselves determines the direction of our path.
Therefore, we must ask ourselves how to achieve goals that seem beyond our reach, or how to develop ourselves fully if our self-image limits us from the start.
Life on the path of the Lord calls us to turn our shadows into light under divine guidance; to transform the negative into opportunities for improvement; to overcome obstacles by the hand of God to achieve excellence in all areas of our lives; to give more, to serve more, to express affection in our actions and words to those around us, serving the Lord with humility.
"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:7-9
As we transform our shadows into light, we begin to witness divine blessings manifesting in our lives.
When we make the decision to walk with the Lord and express our faith with words that reflect His presence in our existence, we demonstrate the spiritual maturity achieved thanks to God the Father.
When we control our words, avoiding the impulsiveness of hurting or seeking revenge, we also protect those around us and honor the glory of God with our actions.
