"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." 1 John 4:16
Amidst the demands and pressures of the modern world, we often find our self-esteem threatened. However, as believers, it is critical to remember that the Lord has deep confidence in our abilities. This knowledge should be the driving force that impels us to put inactivity aside and face the future with the certainty of God's marvelous presence at our side.
When we decide to follow the paths of the Lord, we understand that the ability to restore, heal, forgive, change and, above all, achieve our goals, comes from divine grace and mercy. It is natural that, in the midst of daily pressures, we feel uncertainty and fear, but it is precisely in these moments of vulnerability that we must recognize that we are before the propitious opportunity to, through our unwavering faith in the Lord, overcome all difficulties.
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." 1 John 5:14
This does not imply that the task is easy or pleasant. It is about how we position ourselves in the face of obstacles that stand in the way of our goals. Sustained by the glory of Christ, we will go through the most complicated instances with balance, harmony and, why not, with joy. The joy of knowing that we are God's children and that we count on his presence every day.
When faced with difficult situations, those around us may wonder how it is possible that, in the face of a considerable problem, we can remain calm and joyful. The answer lies in the trust and strength that God gives us when we draw close to Him, when we place our burdens in His infinite love, when we surrender our lives to His perfect guidance.
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." Proverbs 16:3
The Lord calls us to be determined to overcome that which one day hindered us from moving forward, He calls us to fulfill the mission He has entrusted to us, He calls us, ultimately, to be strengthened in Him.
As active members of God's people, we must understand that, as we offer control of our lives to the Lord, fear ceases to be an option in the face of adversity. This happens mainly because of the certainty of His eternal presence in our lives. Our relationship with the Most High is direct and personal, with no need for intermediaries.
This form of direct, authentic and effective communication brings us closer to His grace and, in challenging times, to His gift of justice and protection. Therefore, when we are afflicted, when our self-esteem is weakened by the vicissitudes of life, let us remember that our heavenly Father loves us and has full confidence in us.
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 56:3
An essential part of our faith in the Lord lies in knowing that together with Him we can break down the walls that prevent us from fulfilling His mission for us.
The Lord is the one who values us most and, therefore, has blessed us with gifts that will help us overcome all the events that prevent us from going to the call of His purposes.
So, how can we allow ourselves to feel discouraged, how can we think that we will not be able, that we are not capable, that we will not be able? If it is precisely the eternal One who trusts in us and in our abilities. Let us put aside the negative feelings that keep us inactive and let us develop the gifts that the Almighty has given us to fulfill with hope and joy the mission of love that He has entrusted to us.
